Boats in the bay

I know I said last time that I was nearly finished but it turns out the painting had other ideas:)
I read a quote the other day that said "A painting is never finished. It merely stops in intersting places."
I couldn't agree more!
Every time I think I have finished the water or the hills I think of an improvement I could make. This painting is 'growing me' though and I am at the point where I'd normally be frustrated with being so close to finished but never getting there. It's the opposite! I am begining to worry I will keep finding things to do on it just so I don't have to finish...lol. I really like the changes I made to the hills and to the sky and the darkening of the water. Just the rocks to go now- I think!

Lisa, I have really enjoyed watching this painting come together. It is wonderful. It's amazing how the changes in your hills, sky and water have given this painting so much depth and even the perspective has gotten sharper. Fantastic work.

The Artful Eye has said it already. I think you're close to the end here, Lisa.

Like the rest, I love watching the process of your creativity. One of the hardest things is to know when an artwork is "finished." I always manage to ruin most of my paintings by having a heavy hand and overdoing it...and you don't! So, that's pretty good :)
