I like the lines..the random shape and size. I was intending on doing dots but the 'bleed' from the lines was more effective. It reminds me of rain. These are washed with tea and not coffee and the overall colour is cleaner than the coffee which was a little murky in places.
Yes...they do look the same as my last circles but they're blue-black:)
Some where along the line I started doing lines (excuse the pun!) A while ago I started doing barcodes to represent society (before the nests...) and this reminds me of one. However...this is was actually inspired by the life giving veins that leave delightful ridges on a leaf's surface.Leaves have a double appeal for me...visually they're works of art and the textures are so beautiful to touch. The act of rubbing a leaf is so grounding for me and it speaks directly to my creative spirit.
You can see from the photo below some of the ideas I played with. I think I will be coming back to the tree idea at some stage too!

When you consider the fact that, in all drawing, there are 3 basic shapes: circle, square and triangle. It's no wonder that we gravitate to the basics and find comfort in them. Here's a link to some of my circles from an old series called Reinventing the Wheel.
I love the way they run and bleed, that makes them just chewy ...visually speaking!! my circles piece is almost ready to show! i will keep you posted!!
I like them all. We always go back to the beginning. The Circle.
Another earthy dotty post to enjoy. Here's my old spots and dots post. Not quite so earthy as yours.

You make the most simple things look very interesting and fascinating.
and the browns are fresh
I love the bleed in these pieces. And there is just something so comforting to me about the repetition of these simple patterns in these pieces.
Oh good because - I really like the tree !
I love the blue black and the way the colors bleed!
Hi Lisa - somehow I missed these last 2 posts! Boo hoo.
Wow, well this is just an exciting and excellent series of explorations. I love the little specks - one of the pages (the first photo actually) almost looks hand sewn. The circle explorations are your trademark of course, and I just love them!
more circles and dots-- I did an early blog post on Enso-- the Japanese circle and am planning an upcoming future post soon. I will let you know when..
