Well, so much for the op! It was cancelled at 4pm on the afternoon before it so here I am. I was at such a loose end initially. I didn't have a plan B for the op and I didn't expect the sudden cancellation. It was deflating to say the least! We have another date now, Aug 18 so please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us!
Just before the expected op we took a slow walk around the Mount. We had a picnic, enjoyed the sea air and scenery. It was great for our family and I know I really need to make these connections with my environment before entering the sterile and synthetic environment of the hospital. I was taken with this wonderful moss on the rock, orange like a calendular and so vibrant that it was a shot of inspiration all by itself.
So! back to reality! We're going for a bike ride soon (motor not cycle) and my minds thinking about the next part of my Dis-Co project so hopefully there will be some time for creating much sooner than I thought...

It wasn't time for whatever reason, and sometimes the universe intercedes, though it's hard to switch gears when you are planning around something so significant. Sending positive energy back your way.
Peace and love.
I've got my idea for Dis-Co but haven't started yet. I better get going. Times a runnin' out.
I agree with the Artful Eye, it wasn't the right time, hard as it is on you and your daughter to have to wait again. Please, do keep us up to date, though, so we don't forget when you next go in.
The photograph is beautiful and it's amazing that that color exists naturally.
i like the way u put a positive slant on difficult circumstances.
the moss photo looks so good i want to eat it!
Curious, I am. When notmassproduced mentioned wanting to eat the moss I had to wonder, can you eat it? Perhaps a tasty soup before one of the main courses? :)
Sorry about the postponement Lisa - always very frustrating when you get yourself all psyched up, only to be brought down again. Hope things work out better next time.#In the UK we would call the stuff in your photograph lichen - we have some of that golden stuff here and also a very pale grey/green sort as well.
Lisa, come to long island and feel alright....roses are pink, violets are blue...
Quite disappointing when you are all geared up, ready to go. Fingers crossed that everything pans out for the next date.
Hi Lisa, there's an award for you over at my place, please come and get it.
Hee hee - gotcha! I decided not to say anything this time round (as I normally do with the mail art I receive) because I was hoping the surprise really WOULD be a surprise. So, surprise!!! Thank you so much for your gorgeous mail art too! I loved the eggs in a nest theme - kinda heralds in our Spring, doesn't it! AND we are having a delicious day today. Well, stay tuned for my next posting Lisa - it'll feature your mail art on there.
Very pretty to the eye, lichen can be. This is different from the color I've seen in my part of the world.
