ICE collage #6: 'Familiar' Mullberry paper, brown paper made from recycled paper, text about proof reading from an old book, laser copy of a bird photograph, tracing paper, coffee.
Numbers 5 and 6 almost put themselves together. They're similar in material as you can see but express different things. The first is about attracting birds to our gardens and there place in it and the second is about the common birds we see all the time. The ones that we are familar with. Do they loose there value to us when they become familiar? Personally I think we owe a lot to the humble blackbird and garden sparrows, imagine a world without them! Personally I would rather not...
Number 6 marks the nearly half way mark...13 is the goal! They're due BY March 20 and my eldest is due for surgery around the same time...as you can see I will have my work cut out for me! All the collages made so far fo this series can be seen in the slideshow on my sidebar. Thanks to y'all for your support and comments! It's much appreciated:)

I can blow up and examine 5, but not 6. I really like your pallette and your sentiments. Like the weave and the semi transparent layers. Great that you are using coffee - I do think it warms up sublimally those of us addicted to caffeine. Like the words in ,ultople languiages - Spanish for sure....
Coommon birds can be among ghe most beautiful. In my yard we have blue jays and if they were rare people would drive hundreds of miles to see one - it is that attractive.

With the TEXT- it can be fun to just suggest words rather than put the whole words in there... have them running of the page, use text as shading etc...
Also it's fun to play with text on the photocopier- if you can get your hands on one.
