Grounded

I started this in a bad mood. A great big cloud over hanging me.
The day started bad.
I slept in an hour so hit the ground running and coffee-less.
Then in the chaos the tradesman turns up.
I'd forgotten he was coming.
I'm un-showered and the house is a mess .
Then I get more bad feedback about Tuscany. Soon there will be Tuscany 2 because despite the hours I spent on it trying to get it right I didn't. I'm gutted.
And wiser.
My photography was off because my emotions were.
An unexpected bill for $150.
At christmas.
It's all bad, I'm frustrated and tied in a not.
My solution?
PAINT IT BLACK!
I have to say by the time I worked out my frustration with the paint and stuck staples and needles through my paper I felt much better.
And no I don't practise Voodoo!
I didn't have a plan except to get rid of the dark cloud.
Making prints with the leaves grounded me.
Back to nature, bare hands connecting with bare leaf.
It's hard to explain unless you've been there.
That place of dark clouds and knots slowly evaporating
at the touch of a leaf.

A new twist on the day..just after posting this I scored another commission.
Shakspere in paint.
My style.
Not some-one elses.
All is good again.

I LOVE this collage of leaves and natural things. Even the brown paper. Just gathering these wonderful things would be soul-settling to me. I agree with you totally, it is hard to do stuff to "order", rather than to your heart. I do hope today is a far better day now that you have your new comission.

Thankyou Bobbie and Diane.
I actually had a much better day once I had completed this. Even when my husband said it looked like I had glued the contents of my rubbish bin the page! LOL. Like I would throw those wonderful leaves away!
He's a realism artists so I won't hold it againts him!

Diane, Tuscany is back with me..the blue skies have to go. They will be replaced with hills and more villas and some grapevines. This time I have a clear idea of what is wanted so it should be ok! SHOULD! lol

Bobbie, you said there was a lesson for me in this and I think it wasn't about painting villas and hills somehow! I think I learnt a lot about my artist heart and how I need to be true to me with it. As my quote says "Every artist dips his brush into there own soul..."

All is well, chin up and all of that!

Paint it black, it worked for the 'Rolling Stones'. I also like your 'chin up', very English.

Like the picture. Art as catharsis. Too nice to be Voodoo.

I really like this stunning image of an ephemeral collage. It is hauntingly moving. I like how seasons (flower, pod, yellow leaf)are represented, which to me echo stages of life.

Excellent site and solid. Will visit often.

This is very cool. When I try to do stuff like this, it looks less like art than like something I did in kindergarten. When I need to work off frustration, I usually just clean something. This looks much more satisfying!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
