An unexpected absence!

It's great to be back in the land of blog again:) I upgraded my computer to a new, faster computer and promptly used up my broadband allowence! Doh! For the first few days I felt a little lost but then the down time became creative time so it was a mixed blessing of sorts. I've completed ICE #2 and #3 in the last few nights as well as my offering for Seth's book.I can't show much of that (obviously) but I will post pics of the ICE collages soon. I've also recieved my 12 days of Christmas matchboxes and the Collage box from Lawendula's exchange since my last posting.
My birds are still here and thriving! I think 2 or 3 will be released back into the wild tomorrow which will be a bittersweet moment for us! The black one is still a bit young to go with the others but here's how he looks now...

Below is how he looked the day we bought him home...

Sorry for the lack of art pics...I'm still getting the new toy sorted:)
Many thanks to those of you who dropped by and left me a comment while I was Awol! I'm aiming to visit you all soon:)

Very bittersweet to see your babies go. I couldn't believe how low I felt when our little Thrush flew back into the wild..... but looking back I'm happy that we managed to keep him alive and strong enough to go out into the world.

Your birds are very lucky creatures indeed. They had a good home with you and no doubt will thrive in the wild where they belong once again. You did a good job taking care of them, obviously.

Well done, what a wonderful foster mum you are to those dear little birds - you've given them a real fighting chance of survival.

Thank you for popping by my blog - I loved your little 5 Gold Rings altered matchbox too!

You have such a lovely blog I'm gonna be a follower!

Lisa - we've missed you! So glad you have a nice, fast computer now!!

Loving your baby bird pics. We've had sparrows occupying the old thrush's nest under the awnings and in typical sibling sparrow fashion the biggest brute has kicked the smaller siblings out of the nest. So last week was a bit of a sad week as not one but two baby sparrows lay dead at our feet in the morning.

I finished my Seth piece last week but need to take more photos, this time with a white background. Can't wait to see your ICE offerings too!!

happy to see you were able to save some little birdies -- I feed my blue jays every day-- along with the squirrels- my husband says they eat better than we do.

How funny, you and I were both off for different reasons at the same time! Love your fabric and wire collage piece, very organic looking! I suppose your wee birdies will have gone by now, how hard to watch them leave the nest! Have a fantastic xmas Lisa and a fun, creative and fabulous new year too!
