Merry Christmas!

My favorite Christmas decoration find of 2009 has to be this sweet little bird in a nest!

For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere tomorrow will be Christmas Eve!
The kids are super excited already and no doubt that will continue to grow at the big day creeps closer. Who am I kidding? Christmas dosn't creep! I am sure it has rolled around faster than it did last year! I remember those sleepless nights in aniticipation of what great things might lay beneath the tree...and now of course I am the one trying to ensure that everything that should be there is there! There's a little less this year than the last few, it seems everyone is feeling the pinch but that's not about to dampen the Christmas spirit in this house! Family and friends will gather at our place this year and I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the kitchen tomorrow! Christmas for us is supposed to be sunny so we're hoping for a clear blue day to accompany the cold roast meats, roasted vegetables and salads. Such delciousness will be followed by pavalova with cream and strawberries (a perk of a summer christmas feast!) and a chocolate mousse ( which, by the way are both gluten and lactose free! Wahoo!) and a few glassess of something bubbly. I make a great pav if I may say so myself! That's just lunch...there's a turkey and yet more yummy things for tea at my mums. I may need to be rolled back home at this rate but atleast there'll be smiles all round and not just rounded tummies:)

I thought I'd share a few pics from the lights tour and santa parade...

My Mum's house (above) all decked out and ready for Christmas!

There's something to be said for blurring a lights photo, I love this one!

Santa parade at Mount Maunganui...

How very NZ, a kiwi fruit!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
May your Christmas celebrations be peaceful and your homes filled with the laughter of those you love.
