These almost jellyfish looking 'creatures' are actually Kowhai flowers at the very end of the flowering season. I'm not a plant aficiando but I believe these 'streamers' turn into seed pods. You can see the pea like swelling beginning on some of them already.

There's a kind of sci-fi horror to this. I love it!
These little "things" are just weird! I would love to see them in person for sure just because they are so strange looking. At first I thought they were some kind of psychedelic mushroom. Did you happen to touch them? I really like this photograph!
