Tuscany

This is what I have been up to since last night. I still have a VERY long way to go but watch this space as I will post updates. I have been comissioned to do a Tuscany inspired painting. There's another group of villas to go on the right hand top corner, an olive grove bottom left and a field of flowers to go on the right.
I really do have a long way to go! lol. I painted the hills brown initally applying an acrylic wash with the reds and mustardy colours. It's the first time I have used a wash in a real painting (not an assignment)and I am kinda pleased with the result. The hardest thing about comissioned work is not painting something I am in love with, it's a painting for someone else so me liking it is almost irrelevant! Not that I don't - I just don't usually volunteer myself to do buildings let along 20+ of them! There's 13 in this cluster. Having said that I think I will be spending enough time on this to bond with it:)
The first of December today...I'll have this finished by the 7th. If I don't eat, sleep or do house work! Just joking- painting, regardless of what it is of is a labour of love!

Lisa, I LOVE your start on this painting. The tiled roofs and the Tuscany colors...I know it will finish beautifully.

You asked when I get the error message "Profile Blogger Unavailable". It is when I click on your name in the comments and try to enter your blog that way. If I go through my google reader as I did today I have no problems. I hope this helps :)

Wow! Love this. You've captured the Tuscan town, and the rolling hillsides the colours of orange groves.
