Hand Woven Birds Nest

I finally found the time to create today. Actually I made it. I had too, I havn't been any where other than the hospital, super market or school for nearly 2 weeks and it's starting to mess with my head! lol. I still havn't been any where but the little trip back into the land of creativity has done my pysche some good! I'm more settled in myself and my bird that's been sitting on this box for a few weeks has a nice cosy nest to show for it!
I wove the nest from wool around a stick that I found months ago while out photographing flowers. At the time I notice it's perfect nest structure and now that I have finally used it I can't wait to go and collect some more. The brown wool is recycled although I bought the green stuff sometime last year. The bird is from a shop in town.

The gravy boat with the rose petals and leaves was my inspiration, although intially I didn't realise it! I was photographing it because I liked the colours and shapes..it took my a while that it was actually it's nest qualities I was being drawn too. I have been reading about following ones bliss..to find it and indulge in it in every possible moment. There's something about nests and birds that really appeal to me on many levels...they are a significant factor of my bliss and I am glad that I have recognised this! I don't know where this road will take me but for now I am happy to create nests for my nest:) Check out my photo a day blog for more on this!
PS: Andrea and Frances I have visited you both today with no luck getting into your comments section!! I will keep trying:)

Nice to see you back creating after all that you have been through. It is so good to hear that you are back home.

You know, it occurred to me why you might not be able to comment on some blogs. Comments are sometimes popups and so perhaps your popup blocker is turned on.

I would like to be small enough for a little while to fit into one of your nests and cuddle up there. Would that be okay with you?

I love your woven bird nest, great idea and recycled too.

I also have sculpted nests and birds all over the house, my husband and I have a great affinity for our feathered friends so we enjoy being surrounded by the likeness of their world.

Lovely still life photo.

I'm thinking about your daughter and hope she is doing well.

Don't worry about comments remember...Life's too short to sweat the small stuff.

I love the nest of course ... more importantly, you were able to get back to your creative bliss for a little while. :)

funny - I had trouble getting into your comments. I had to open in another Window and it took ages... anyhow, like the creativity. The bird looks very like one a dear friend gave my daughter. It originally made the sound of the bird as well... no longer, sadly.

And doesn't Mr. Birdy look right cozy in his new nest?! Yes, I think he does, he was waiting for that (and you too I believe, to be back in you "nest"). Good work Lisa!

I came here through Mick's blog. You have beautiful things here and I wish I had more time to visit, but the works calls. I just wanted to say that the red blog bottom goes very well with the picturvery difficult color. You have succeeded in making it a part of what you show. And that can be very important too.
