Altered Book

AB: Paper trail theme.
Ticket stubs, hand written notes, postal markings, pages from the books and magazines we read etc etc. The bits of paper accumulated in every day life.

This is the latest page in my AB. The book has previously been in a Round Robin and is about to be part of a 2nd swap, this time Tip In's. I'm new to AB's but I think I have found my ultimate artistic dream in them.
You can use paint, sewing, collage, photo's and cut, paste and fold to your hearts content. There are no rules as long as it stays together. For someone like me with a short attention span they are a dream come true.
What's more they can be done collaboratively or as a solo work and in creating them you recycle whole books.
What more could I ask for?

What is an AB? Seems to be an latered book and maybe people meet and exvhange the books they have?

I left you something on my blog a couple of days ago.

I liked the pics witrh your children on 365. Being a caring parent has so many rewards, some - no - most days.....my best.

Hi Bev, I highly recomend you taking to an old book with paint, scissors, felt tips, glue etc etc! They are great fun..just addictive so you've been warned! lol.
AB Round Robins are a bit like pass the parcel except instead of unwrapping you get to create a page in the book! The more artists who play the more spreads you will have in your book done by other people..the more get to do to ofcourse! When the book has been to all of the players it comes home again. It's like christmas when they come home!

Yes you got it John. Basically you add too the pages of a pre-exsisting book in anyway you wish and pass it on to the next artist if it is a RR. You don't have to do it collaboratively though..nothing wrong with sole artist books!

Hi Mick, thanks for the visit! I stopped by your blog also, you have a good variety of things to see!

What a wonderful idea with the book, do you also send it to other cities, countries or stays it in your neighbourhood.

It will content a lot of interesting things at the end of the year. It might be so thick and cannot be closed anymore.
